Cheers! I tried pouring the perfect pint at Aintree’s new DIY Guinness stand

Watching the racing is thirsty work but it’s a lot more fun when you pour your own refreshing pint of Guinness. For the first time ever, Aintree has a ‘Do-It-Yourself’ Guinness station for racegoers to dash over and try serving themselves – and not make a hash if it. 
So naturally your Daily Express had to pop over to the enormous metal box of delights on the Merseyside racecourse’s main concourse, in front of the Princess Royal Stand. And after a bit of explaining from the helpful staff it was hilarious fun as I tried to work out the best time to finish the first half pour – and then top it up to give it the perfect Guinness head.

Lucky the site’s manager Connor King, 24, of Freemans Event Partners was on hand to give me some stout advice. 
First you select your choice of drinks – Guinness for £7.80 or Carling lager for £7.40 – then you pay on your card and the clock is ticking!
